Criss Angel's "Believe" show in Las Vegas is magical, and his reputation and popularity were never affected, despite criticism by the media.

"Believe," the sixth Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas, has been developed and performed since 2008 at a 1,600-capacity theater of the Luxor Hotel Casino.

The partnership between him and Cirque du Soleil is the first time Cirque du Soleil built a show around an individual performer.

China.org.cn reporter has experienced one of the shows recently.

The show, which is full of magic and illusions, combined with Cirque du Soleil's tricks and spectacular stage design, is scheduled to run for ten years. Additional illusions are constantly added to the show and evolving.

The magician is known for many incredible and sometimes scary tricks such as floating in the air and cutting people in half without shield.

Criss Angel presents a show with average tricks and adult jokes, which are entertaining but not stunning.

Critics didn't look favorably upon the show, but the theater was packed and people enjoyed the show.

On the night of May 22, more than 10,000 spectators were supposed to attend the illusionist's "Buried Alive – Cement Grave" stunt at The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, which proved that Criss Angel's popularity was not affected, before the show was shut down by officers due to crowd control problem.

Criss Angel was supposed to be restrained at the bottom of a transparent box. This clear "above ground" grave would have been filled with wet cement, while Angel would try to escape before being buried alive.

The illusionist said he was honored to have such an enormous crowd turnout and promised that the show will be rescheduled with the appropriate number of officers.
