The American pop group Backstreet Boys will hold a concert Friday in Chengdu in southwest China's Sichuan province, but that isn't the highlight of their tour to the city.

On Thursday, the Boys got the privilege of getting some hands-on time with five baby pandas at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

Each one of the team members snuggled up to their new furry friends and helped feed them lunch through bottles.

Concert organizers say this is the first time that showbiz stars have been invited to feed pandas at the research center.

The Backstreet Boys celebrated their 20th anniversary by launching a global tour in Beijing on May 25.
