It has been announced that online applications will be accepted for two roles in the upcoming "Star Wars" film after an overwhelming number of people turned up to try out for the part at the first open auditions in the UK.

Some 2,500 people were seen by Lucasfilm casting directors but at least the same numbers again were turned away.

Many of the applicants had camped out overnight for the chance of getting a place.

The film producer says hopefuls can now submit auditions through an official website opencastingcall2013.com.

They're looking for two people in lead roles for "Star Wars" Episode VII, the first a street smart girl in her late teens, and the other a smart but capable man in his early 20's.
