S. Korean music festival to be held in Yangon

South Korean music festival will be held at Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Myanmar's Yangon aimed at strengthening the mutual friendship and boosting cultural exchange between S. Korea and Myanmar, local media reported Saturday.

Organized by Pee Paw Entertainment from Myanmar and S. Korean DM Company, the famous Korean pop music bands -- Sistar, After School, ZE:A and U KISS will entertain the local audiences with their well- known K-Pop songs, said the Yangon Times Daily.

Famous Korean celebrity Song Il Gook (Jumong) which is well known for his roles in dramas will also perform in the event.

The security measures will be tightened for the occasion.

The festival tickets will be sold at shopping centers in Yangon starting the third week of January, the report said.

Meanwhile, Korean Film Festival has been held since 1998.

Myanmar and South Korea have been cooperating in the sector of culture with Korean film week taking place in Myanmar annually.
