The exhibition has collected more than 100 pieces of Zhang Daqian's artwork to celebrate the Chinese lunar New Year, which will fall on Jan. 31 this year.

As one of the most renowned Chinese painting masters in the 20th century, Zhang combines an impressionistic style with fine brushwork, thick colors and ink-wash painting. He uses ink and color splashing techniques, and led a new artistic style for traditional Chinese painting.

The exhibition aims to recall Zhang's art history, artistic style and personal characteristics. Through it, the museum has attempted to present Zhang's unique artistic spirit as a great master and his significant contribution to Chinese art history.

The exhibition is a collaboration between mainland and Taiwan art museums. It will run until Mar. 3.
