Hundreds of Beijing citizens and students gathered together with a number of artists at the NCPA Opera House and jointly lifted the veil on China's first feature film based on the Western opera classic.

As a first NCPA production, "Turandot" has passed through eight performance rounds since premiering in 2008, and subsequently has become one of the most popular features in the NCPA repertoire.

The well-known Chinese "Jasmine" melody occurs throughout the whole film and the widely-known aria "Nessun Dorma" is one you don't want to miss out on.

The opera film recorded the eighth round of the performance, including heavy-weight line-ups with world-class opera conductor Daniel Oren, famed Chinese conductor Chen Xinyi and distinguished singers Dai Yuqiang, Sun Xiuwei, Yao Hong and Tian Haojiang.

At the premiere on Sunday, a large 6-meter-high and 16-meter-wide HD screen was set up on the stage. The entire production team, NCPA orchestra and choir members all attended the event.

The NCPA kicked off the 2014 Opera Festival on March 14.
