Actress Chloe Bennet, who plays hacker-turned-agent Skye in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", was in the Chinese capital on Thursday afternoon (April 24, 2014) to meet her fans.

She was invited by Sohu.com, the Chinese online broadcaster of a number of American TV dramas, including "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.".

"Hi, I'm so glad you guys are here," Bennet told her fans, "I want to give you guys a big hug, all of you."

The 22-year-old actress was met with a warm welcome, and was glad to take a number of "selfies" with appreciative fans.

"I used to live here for about a year," she told her Beijing fans, "and I'm excited to be back."

Bennet, who was born to an American mother and a Chinese father, studied Mandarin in Beijing in 2008 and developed a singing career back then.

Being cast for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." represented a breakthrough for Bennet's acting career.

The TV series, revolving around a S.H.I.E.L.D. team of six members, has three episodes left to wrap up its first season. In recent episodes, the show's plot has been intertwined with that of the blockbuster movie "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", which has the same S.H.I.E.L.D. backdrop.

In episode 19, which was made available on Sohu.com on Wednesday, S.H.I.E.L.D. almost collapsed after the attacks of Hydra. Skye, one of the six S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, was shocked to discover the Hydra identity of Agent Ward, her love interest and superior officer, who is on his own mission to take her away from the team.
