The event was jointly held by Film Production Department of Chinese Ethnic Minority Movie Project and Beijing Film Association.

Wu died of heart failure on March 4 this year at the age of 75. He was considered the "Godfather" of China's film industry in the 1980s. Wu's daughter Wu Yanyan, who was in the U.S. while the event was held, sent her regards by expressing her gratitude for the love to her father and recognition of her late father's performance in the micro film.

The film "An Old Man's Wish" also won the Best Cinematograph and Best Director awards.

Directed by Zhang Yang, the film "An Old Man's Wish" tells the story of Zhou Shuang (Wang Luodan) who leaves home for love and cuts relationship with her father (Wu Tianming). Eight years later, Zhou goes back home, realizes the warmness that home brings to her and understands the hardship of being a parent.

Micro films "Faraway Mountain (Yuan Shan)" and "Tuteng Zhi Qi" received Best Documentary Award and Best Cinematograph and Best Director awards separately.
