"Transformers: Age of Extinction" is busting more box offices in China than in the U.S., according to China Movie Media Group, which has released the numbers for the film.

Grossing over US$ 134 million in its first five days of hitting the big screen in China, "Age of Extinction" is outpacing its 121-million-dollar five-day U.S. showing.

China Movie Media Group, which is a production-partner for "Age of Extinction", says that the latest "Transformers" outing is on its way to surpass Avatar's China showing, which netted over US$ 217 million.

The film's commercial success in China over the U.S. is attributed to the involvement of China Movie Media Group, which assisted with promotion for "Age of Extinction" on the mainland.

The previous "Transformers" movie earned about US$ 165 million in China, according to entertainment trade publication, Variety.
