They wed in a small chapel in a private ceremony attended by family and friends at Provence's Chateau Miraval.

In advance of the non-denominational civil ceremony, Pitt and Jolie obtained a marriage license from a California judge, who also conducted the ceremony in France.

Jolie and Pitt's wedding caps years of rampant speculation on when the couple would officially tie the knot.

By Thursday it was back to business, with Pitt at a photocall for his upcoming movie "Fury" at The Tank Museum in Camp Bovington, Dorset, England on Thursday.

Set in 1945, Pitt plays Wardaddy, a tank commander on a mission behind enemy lines - he was also Executive Producer on the movie.
