Luc Besson's latest sci-fi film Lucy opens in Chinese cinemas today.

It is about an American woman studying in Taipei who is tricked into drug trafficking and gets drugged. The drug helps her gain immense physical and mental abilities such as telepathy[t?'lep?θ?] and time travel.

The film stars Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman.

Luc Besson was in Beijing for the premier of the film. He has plans for a sequel and wishes to work with Li Bingbing, who was also at the premier.

"She's a very good actress. Her English is becoming better and better. I wish one day we can find something to work with."

Lucy has grossed over 400 million US dollars worldwide since its release last summer.
