Sony Pictures has conceded defeat.
The company will not release the comedic film, "The Interview" in any form, including Video-On-Demand or DVD.
The film became shrouded in controversy for depicting an assassination plot against North Korean leader King Jong-un.
It is also the motivation behind a massive hack on Sony's computers and threats made to theaters that would have screened the comedy.
But America's theater-goers don't agree with the move.
Ahmed Manns of New York says Sony shouldn't have bowed to threats.
"I don't think it was the right decision. I mean, it's abuse of freedom of speech. Over the years we've had movies that have made fun of Hitler, other worldwide leaders, and also we've had so many action-thrillers and action-comedies about trying to prevent the assassination of a U.S. president. I don't think it should be worth canceling a movie."
News of the film's cancellation comes as U.S. officials report a connection between North Korea and the massive cyber-attack.
North Korea has denied any involvement.
