Jay Chou, one of Asia's biggest stars, married long-term girlfriend Hannah Quinlivan in a fairytale wedding ceremony at Selby Abbey, York, England. The wedding came not a moment too soon for Jay Chou, but only by some time travel.

Jay Chou, who said he would be married by 35, had the wedding on Saturday 17th of January, a day before his birthday. Although, it was only by having the wedding in the UK, which is currently eight hours ahead of Taiwan, that Mr Chou managed to fulfil his wish.

The bride and groom, who have been together for four years, tied the knot at a small ceremony held for family and selected friends in the thousand-year old Abbey.

The singer, who has over four-hundred thousand fans on Facebook, looked dashing as he walked down the aisle to await his wife-to-be.

Hannah, who is of Australian and Taiwanese-Korean descent, was walked down the aisle by her father, Patrick Quinlivan. She wore a beautiful mock-Tudor style dress.

The ceremony ended with the newly-weds walking down the aisle to a piece of music composed by Jay Chou for the special occasion.

Guests finished the grand event by dining at Castle Howard, a large stately home originally built in the 18th century.

This may be a sad time for many of Jay Chou's millions of fans as they see him happily wed, though there has been continuous well-wishing from his fans on China's largest micro-blogging site, Weibo.

It is thought that the couple will honeymoon in England, and will then hold ceremonies in their native countries in the coming months.
