As the city's only outdoor music event during the Labor Day holiday, the festival brought together 40 musical groups with high popularity both in China and abroad, such as Candy Monster, The Life Journey, The Reflector, Black Panther, Nova Heart, ASH, Cold Air, and Hanggai. It was also joined by a strong lineup of pop singers including Sun Nan, The One, Hao Yun and Tan Weiwei.

The festival was organized around the theme "Sing your songs in flowers, find your passion in Beijing" and aims to build Asia's largest outdoor music festival to better serve the majority of music lovers. It was jointly organized by the Beijing Yuyang Group and City Dream Investment Co. Ltd.

This year's Pinggu Music Festival was characterized by across-the-board diversification and internationalization, integrating pop music and rock-and-roll. A series of related activities were held at the same time as the festival to promote the development of the cultural industries in the district.
