The song, "Fighting Shadows," will be the promotional theme song for the new installment of the film franchise first conceived by Canadian director James Cameron. The fifth installment, directed by Alan Taylor, will act as a sequel and a reboot to the series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger who will reprise his role.

Zhang said she was honored to participate in the musical part production of "Terminator 5" while Big Sean said he was happy and excited to get involved in this film and collaborate with Zhang.

"I have been a huge fan of Arnold and the Terminator movies since I was a kid, so it’s especially exciting to be a part of the new film," Big Sean said. "Working with Jane has been an amazing experience and I can’t wait for audiences around the world to hear her song."

The record will also mark the first time Zhang has recorded a song for an English-language film.

"Contributing to the 'Terminator Genisys' movie and inviting Big Sean to collaborate was a very special opportunity for me," said Zhang in a statement. "I am really looking forward to the moment when people get to hear this song."

The new song will be released by Sony Music Entertainment in Asia while Def Jam Recordings will release it in other parts of the world. The song can be downloaded from iTunes on June 30, and the anticipated summer blockbuster will debut on July 1.

The father of the "Terminator" franchise, James Cameron, has seen "Terminator Genisys," and is impressed. In an online video, Cameron calls the new film "respectful of the first two films," which is a pretty big compliment coming from the director who made both "The Terminator" and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day." Cameron said the new movie "reinvigorates" the franchise.
