Shanghai film festival celebrates Action Movie Week

Chinese and international action movie directors, producers and film stars joined Jackie Chan on Thursday for the final night of the Shanghai International Film Festival's first ever Action Movie Week.

Li Bingbing, Sammo Hung and Zhang Jingchu joined Chan on the red carpet for the gala which brought to a close the five day event which celebrates action movies.
25 films from around the world were screened as part of the program.
Also in attendance was Die Hard 2 director Renny Harlin who said the concept of Action Movie Week was a good idea.
"I think it's a great idea. I think it's really nice that action movies get the recognition that they deserve. You know people love seeing action movies and sometimes people look at like there's art movies and there's action movies, but I think you know they're all movies. "
The Shanghai international Film Festival runs until June 21.
