China Film Co. Ltd. and Sony's Columbia Pictures will remake the 1997 American romantic comedy "My Best Friend's Wedding" with a Chinese star-studded cast that includes actress Hsu Chi.

"My Best Friend's Wedding," directed by P.J. Hogan and starring Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz, was a romance classic and a box office hit, with a worldwide gross of US$299 million. The film was also listed as one of the 10 biggest films of 1997.
The Chinese remake will be directed by Alexi Tan, and will star Hsu Chi, Feng Shaofeng, Song Qian and Ye Qing.
The new film will be shot in London, Italy and Beijing. Italy's Ernesto Mameli and Spain's Alvaro Gutierrez were respectively invited by Tan to serve as the art director and cinematography director for the film.
Filming for the project started in July 2015 in London, and the film will be released in China on Valentine's Day in 2016.
