Universal Studios has announced that it will invest 10 million US dollars in a South Korean remake of the Chinese romance drama "Bu Bu Jing Xin".

The adaptation will be named "The Lovers of the Moon" and will be helmed by South Korean director Kim Kyu Tae.

This is the first South Korea-drama project for Universal Studios.

The original drama was based on Chinese novelist Tong Hua's novel "Bu Bu Jing Xin" or "Startling at every step".

It follows a modern woman who travels back in time to Qing Dynasty China. She encounters the sons of the Kangxi Emperor and gets entangled in their political struggles.

The series quickly became a cult classic in the Chinese mainland. It was also a smash hit across Asia.

The South Korean adaptation will start shooting later this year.
