3D animated film 'The Little Prince' has opened in China in both English and Chinese.

Chinese actor Huang Bo lent his voice to the film's Chinese theme song, as well as to the character the Aviator in the film.

A number of other well-known Chinese artists, including Golden Horse award-winning actress Zhou Xun, completed the cast.

Directed by Kung Fu Panda's co-director Mark Osbourne, 'The Little Prince' is based on the renowned French novel with the same name.

However, it is not a direct adaptation.

It has taken in elements from the novel, and interwoven them with an original narrative, featuring a young girl who is dealing with her pushy mother.

This is the first adaptation of the beloved novella, which has sold 145 million copies in 265 languages.
