It has been leading the box office for four of the last five weekends, according to box office tracker Rentrak.

Sales was down 27.5 percent compared with last weekend, but the film is currently running 15 percent ahead of last year's 158.45-million-dollar space film "Interstellar" 31 days after its release, and 16.5 percent behind the 218.89-million-dollar "Gravity" in 2013.

The R. L. Stine book-turned movie "Goosebumps" was in second place again this weekend, this time with 10.2 million dollars in sales. The 3D horror comedy starring Jack Black dropped 34 percent from last weekend. "Goosebumps" has grossed 57.1 million dollars in 17 days.

"Bridge Of Spies," a reality-based Steven Spielberg movie starring Tom Hanks, was in third place with 8 million dollars. It declined 29 percent from last weekend, and has grossed a promising 45.2 million dollars in 17 days.

Rounding out the 10 most popular movies this weekend in the United States and Canada were "Hotel Transylvania 2" (5.8 million dollars), "Burnt" (5 million), "The Last Witch Hunter" (4.8 million), "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" (3.5 million), "Our Brand Is Crisis (3.4 million), "Crimson Peak" (3.1 million) and "Steve Jobs" (2.6 million).
