"Warcraft: The Beginning," is directed by Duncan Jones, produced by Legendary Pictures, and distributed by Universal Pictures, starring Clancy Brown, Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Toby Kebbell, Rob Kazinsky, Burke Duffield and Chinese American actor Daniel Wu, who will play character Gul'dan, an orc warlock.

It began filming at the beginning of 2014 and has just set a release date of June 10, 2016.

As early as May 2006, Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures announced that they will develop a live-action film set in the Warcraft universe. Nearly a decade has passed, with a lot of twists in the development, and fans will eventually see the light of the long awaited project.

Though little has been revealed about the content of the movie, it is reportedly set at the time of events leading into the First War. The story focuses on the war between the orcs and humans, capturing each side's way of thinking and delving into their varied and sometimes identical ideals.

Warcraft is a franchise of video games, novels, and other media created by Blizzard Entertainment in 2004. The fourth and best-selling title of the franchise "World of Warcraft" is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).

The "World of Warcraft" is the world's largest subscription-based MMORPG and reached a peak 12 million subscribers worldwide. As of January 2014, the game has more than 100 million player accounts (including the demo version) registered in 244 countries and regions around the world, even reaching as far as in the Antarctic. The game was introduced into Chinese market in June 2005.

"You may see this film as another monster epic," one player wrote on Weibo microblog in the wake of the teaser release, "But I see it as the track of my youth."
