Crime thriller "Port of Call" leads the pack, scoring 13 nominations, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay.

Loosely based on a real life crime that took place in Hong Kong, the movie revolves around a police officer who investigates the events, which have torn two families apart.

"The Taking of Tiger Mountain" follows closely with 11 nominations.

The 3D action adventure film by veteran director Tsui Hark is shortlisted for Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Action Choreography.

The third installment of the "Ip Man" series is the third most nominated film with eight nominations, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Action Choreography.

However, the film's leading man, Kung Fu star Donnie Yen missed out in the Best Actor category.

This year's Best Actor nominees are Andy Lau, Nick Cheung, Tony Leung, Jacky Cheung and Aaron Kwok.

The Best Actress nominees include Tang Wei, Miriam Yeung, Sylvia Chang, Karena Lam and Jessi Li.

The nominations were announced by two past winners, actor Sean Lau Ching Wan and singer and actress Ivana Wong.

The Hong Kong Film Awards will be handed out on April 3rd.
