Fans of Guo Jingming's novels can rejoice as his 2005 novel "Rush to the Dead Summer" may be adapted to the small screen.

This comes as 2008 hit TV series "Fated to Love U" director Chen Mingzhang posted a book cover on his Sina Weibo last Saturday, writing with words "Are you ready to rush to the dead summer this year?"

With a plot set in an imaginary city, the novel features true love, friendship and alienation among several young students.

In addition to being a writer, Guo is also a screenwriter and film director, with his 4-units film "Tiny Times" franchise, all based on his own novels, grossing a total box office of over 2 billion yuan, or 300 million U.S. dollars.
