International action star and dramatic actress Michelle Yeoh's new film Final Recipe, "Hua Yang Chu Shen" in Chinese, will be screened on August 26th.

That's according to a press conference held Thursday afternoon in Beijing promoting the upcoming food and family film, which is nearly entirely in English.

Directed by South Korean director Gina Kim, the film is a about a high school student's discovery of his abilities and cultural roots.

Canadian-born Korean pop idol Henry Lau plays the student who is also a young chef named Mark.

Mark signs up for a cooking competition to save his grandfather's restaurant.

Yeoh plays the central character Julia, who is the mastermind of a successful, long-running cooking-competition show and she is also one of the film's many executive producers.

In addition, veteran actor Mr. Hollywood from Singapore also plays a protagonist in the movie.

Probably thanks to its international cast that is composed of filmmakers from Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore, the film has received global attention, and also has been nominated for numerous movie awards.

In April last year, Final Recipe was selected as the opening night film at the 44th Annual USA Film Festival in Dallas, Texas.
