After hosting a successful run of "The Phantom of the Opera" recently, Beijing's Tianqiao Performing Arts Center is bringing another internationally acclaimed musical to audiences in the Chinese capital. An original French production of "Romeo and Juliet" will be shown at the Tianqiao Theater between December 9th and 18th.

The musical will be performed in French, while Chinese subtitles will also be provided.

This particular production of the famous Shakespeare play was created by Gerard Presgurvic and features opulent stage and costume designs, as well as a variety of musical elements, to offer the story a modern flavor.

The musical's debut back in 2001 in France met with great fanfare. Since then, the show has traveled to 18 countries and regions, bringing the romantic love story to more than 6.5 million audiences.

To promote the musical in Beijing, the production team has offered full hair and make-up to two lucky ticket holders, transforming them into Juliet and her mother Lady Capulet.

Audiences in southern China can also catch the show in Guangzhou between November 18th and December 2nd.
