Pop star George Michael has become the latest big name to pass away this year after his publicist confirmed his death on Christmas Day.

The star, who shot to fame as part of the pop duo Wham! in the 1980s, went on to have a phenomenally successful solo performer. He died at home at the age of 53.
Police say they are treating the death as unexplained but there were no suspicious circumstances.
George Michael's publicist issued a statement saying, "It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period."
Michael sold more than 100 million albums throughout his career spanning almost four decades.
He's known for the hits such as Club Tropicana and Last Christmas with Wham!
His 1987 debut solo album Faith sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.
