Backkom, the main character in the 3D-film is a cute yet brave bear hero, who remains optimistic despite all the bad luck he suffers. This time around, he embarks on a new adventure when human activities threaten the natural habitat of the polar bears.

The Chinese cartoon, which aims to promote public awareness of environmental threats, is set to be released in time for the winter holiday season.

The series was made in South Korea in 2002.

In 2014, Chinese filmmakers purchased the rights to it.
