Beijing's Tianqiao Performing Arts Center announced that it will introduce opera "The Magic Flute" in July.

Barrie Kosky is the artistic director for the latest rendition of "The Magic Flute," which was composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1791. Barrie Kosky has transformed "The Magic Flute" into a stunning live-action production.

That is according to a press conference recently held by the Tianqiao Performing Arts Center. On the occasion, the center also announced a schedule of other programs to be staged later this year.

In addition to "The Magic Flute," four other hit musicals will be staged at the arts center, including Broadway classics "Wicked" and "Jersey Boys."

Occupying a total area of more than 16,000 square meters, the Tianqiao Performing Arts Center has four theaters. The biggest among them can host up to 1,600 people while the smaller ones can hold around 300.
