Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau was injured after he fell off a horse while filming a commercial in Thailand.

"Mr. Andy Lau was shooting a commercial in Thailand on Jan. 17, 2017 when he had a little accident and fell off a horse, which resulted in a pelvic laceration. A medical team took care of him and everything is fine now. Please don't worry and thank you for your concerns," read a statement from Topman Global, Lau's company.

But local media reported Lau was severly injured, as the horse Lau was riding got frightened and threw him off, even stepping on his back. He was rushed to a local hospital in Thailand and then transported back to Hong Kong in a private medical jet on Thursday morning. He is now staying at Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital for further medical care.

It was not the first time Lau got injured on set. Ten years ago when he shot Peter Chan's film "The Warlords," he rode a horse that ran into a 50-meter-deep ditch. He jumped off the horse and several other horses stepped on him.

Lau is one of Hong Kong's most successful actors and singers. He is one of the four "Heavenly Kings" of Cantopop, and has acted in more than 100 films, including award-winning "Infernal Affairs," "A Simple Life," and, most recently, "The Great Wall."
