Editor's note: A recital by world-renowned pianist Lang Lang, and stage dramas by Meng Jinghui and Zou Jingzhi. Here are three events you won't want to miss this week.

1, Lang Lang Piano Recital

Globally celebrated piano virtuoso Lang Lang has sold millions of albums around the world, topping classical charts and simultaneously achieving mainstream success. He will perform classic musical pieces composed by Robert Schumann and Johann Sebastian Bach in the new concert.

Date: May 15

Venue: National Center for the Performing Arts, Beijing

2, Meng Jinghui's stage drama "Amber"

The multimedia musical drama "Amber" is part of director Meng Jinghui's "Pessimism Trilogy," which examines the tempestuous relationship between two young Chinese lovers. 

"Amber" was first staged in Hong Kong in 2005. It combines melodrama and comedy, realistic representation with abstract tableau and stylized physicality, as well as avant-garde aesthetics and traditional Chinese performance styles.

Dates: May 13-16

Venue: Beijing Poly Theatre

3, Drama "I Love Peach Blossom"

The drama "I Love Peach Blossom" was created in 2003 by Zou Jingzhi, a famous Chinese writer, poet and playwright. It has been performed over 300 times at home and abroad since its debut, and warmly received by both audiences and critics alike.

Set during ancient times, the story manages to reflect the complexity of human emotions and feelings in modern times.

Dates: May 16-17, 19:30

Venue: Guangzhou Opera House
