Editor's note: This week's events include an epic opera featuring the Red Army's Long March spirit, an art festival at Beijing's top artistic district, as well as a stage play directed by an outstanding Russian director centered around a love story. Here are three events you don't want to miss.

1. Chinese epic opera 'The Long March'

The opera "The Long March," adapted from the true history of the Red Army's Long March, faithfully shows the hardships along a trek of 25,000 li (12,500 km) from south China to northern Shaanxi province from 1934 to 1936. This epic effort started a new great march toward national independence and liberation.
