Huaneng increases power output

Huaneng Power International, the nation's biggest electricity producer, increased output by 13 percent in the first nine months of the year, as it boosted generation capacity to meet China's rising power demand.

Huaneng's plants produced 140.4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity between January and September, the company said.
