China's statistics authority will revise its gross domestic product (GDP) figure for 2013 by about 3 percent after a latest national economic census.

Ma Jiantang, chief of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), told a press conference Tuesday that the revision is made as more detailed data became available after the third economic census conducted this year.

The adjustment will be around 3 percent, lower than that for the previous two censuses, Ma said, adding that the revised figures will be released on Friday.

After the second census in 2009, the NBS revised up the 2008 GDP figure by 4.5 percent. Preliminary data showed that China's GDP stood at 56.88 trillion yuan (9.3 trillion U.S. dollars) in 2013, up 7.7 percent year on year.
