Foreign contracts worthUS$10.5b signed at Harbin Fair

Foreign contracts worth 10.59 billion U.S. dollars and domestic contracts involving 100.62 billion yuan (14.4 billion U.S. dollars) were signed at the 10th China Harbin Fair for Trade and Economic Cooperation that just concluded on Thursday.

The fair, which ran from June 15 to 19, had attracted 11,900 foreign businessmen from 60 countries and regions, including Russia, the United States, Germany, Finland and Japan. In addition, 85 of the world's top 500 enterprises and 43 overseas delegations for trade and economics attended the event, according to the organizers.

The fair, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Heilongjiang government, was first held in 1990.
