More than 100 media leaders from around the globe will attend the 2009 Summer Davos, also known as the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2009, in China's port city Dalian, northeast Liaoning Province, forum organizers said Wednesday.

All the 100-plus leaders were from world-renowned media, including AP, BBC, Xinhua News Agency, CNN, just to name a few, said Jeremy Jurgens, Senior Director of Center for Global Growth Companies at the World Economic Forum (WEF).

They will hold discussions along with other participants of the annual meeting under the theme of "Relaunching Growth", he added.

The meeting, which is scheduled from Sept. 10 to 12, is expected to attract about 1,400 business leaders and policy makers from 86 countries and regions.

Jurgens said that WEF highly valued the role of media, which would help spread the participants' voices widely.

The media leaders' participation will bring a new perspective to the discussions, he said.
