Waste material collapse kills 2 in Shanghai

Two people were buried and killed after illegally entering a construction site and trying to steal steel bars lodged beneath the ground Thursday morning in Shanghai, local police said.
Shanghai police received a report at 8:09 a.m. Saturday saying that a group of construction site raiders had illegally entered a construction site near Jungong Road, Yangpu district.
The raiders have been confirmed to be among those gleaning and collecting scraps in the streets of Shanghai to eke out an existence.
Construction waste material had collapsed and buried two people as the group was trying to get the steel bars.
Two were killed and one was injured at the scene. Others in the group were not hurt. The injured individual was rushed to the hospital.
Police are still investigating the case
