13 dead after bus falls off cliff in SW China

At least 13 people were killed and nine were injured after a bus fell off an 8.5-meter-high cliff at 3:50 p.m. Saturday in Xuanhan County of southwest China's Sichuan Province, said local authorities.

The bus carrying 22 people lost control and crashed the guardrail before falling off the cliff, said the provincial administration of work safety.

Eleven people died at the scene, and two others died at a Xuanhan hospital where the injured people were being treated.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
