Medical services

For their safety, their rooms have an alarm and telephone with which they can report emergencies or bullying.

Prisoners have access to a clinic authorized by the provincial health department, including an observation ward, emergency room and physical examination room. The clinic has four medical staff, advanced instruments and basic medicines. Three psychological counselors are also available.

Various menus

The weekly menu is changed every quarter. Traditional dishes are provided on special occasions, such as Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival. In the summer, cooling teas are provided twice a week.

Medical patients enjoy specially prepared meals, while detainees of minorities receive meals in accordance with their cultures and religions.

A typical day: 6 a.m.: Wake-up call 6 a.m. – 7 a.m.: Shower and dress 7 a.m. – 8 a.m.: Breakfast 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.: Studies 11 a.m. – noon: Lunch Noon – 2 p.m.: Break 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.: Reading 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.: Housekeeping and dinner 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.: Leisure time 10 p.m.: Bedtime
