A video clip that shows a man forcing a small dog to inhale cigarette smoke has triggered public rage after it was uploaded on the Internet recently.

The nearly five-minute clip clearly shows the dog suffering as it rolls back its eyes after being forced to inhale a lot of smoke.

In the clip, the man from Wulong county, Chongqing municipality, presses the dog to the ground and covers its face with a smoke-filled plastic water bottle, which is cut in half.

The man shamelessly posted his name and address along with the video clip, saying he is not afraid.

The Chongqing Small Animal Protection Association soon contacted the police, who traced the man to Enshi, Hubei province.

His mother said the dog is out of danger and her son is willing to apologize for his behavior.

Volunteers from the association are on their way to Enshi to rescue the dog.
