Yang Zhixia, 55, is a former mall-employee. Nine people in her family caught SARS. Only she and her sister-in-law lived to tell the tale. Yang still suffers from a dozen illnesses – among which shoulder necrosis and pulmonary fibrosis, typical SARS sequelae. During the past 10 years, her son finished college and got married. A transient smile appears on Yang’s face when talking about her one-year-old grandson.
