In 2010, 60-year-old Sheng Hailin gave birth to IVF twins, making her the oldest mother to bear children in all of China, according to a latest report in Southern People Weekly.

Sheng Hailin, living in Chizhou City of southeastern Anhui Province, gave birth to her first daughter in 1980. Sadly, the family's only child at that time died in 2009, at the age of at 29, from carbon monoxide poisoning.

After intense inner struggles, Sheng and her husband decided to have another baby and prepared for vitro fertilization (IVF) by taking an elaborate cocktail of medication and injections.
