"Some lectures may only last one day, but sometimes I have to stay three or four days in one place," said Sheng, "I could only spend four or five days at home with my children in a month. I'm 64 now and my body is old."

According to the data published by the Ministry of Health in 2010, more than 1 million families across the country have lost their only children and that number increases by 76,000 annually.

In November 2011, China for the first time eased its decades-long one-child policy, allowing couples to have two children if both of them were an only child.

In November of this year, the Chinese government announced couples could have two children if one parent is an only child, according to a key decision issued on Nov.15 by the Communist Party of China (CPC).
