Making money while having fun
Before graduating, Ma chose Du Cai, a controversial and legendary teacher at her university, to oversee her graduation thesis. Du is famous for his wild personality and bold behavior in class.
"Why do I like Ma Jiajia? She has lots of ideas and is very energetic. She likes to break with traditional rules and brings her thoughts into actions. She is not dying inside like many other young people." Du said, "This is very rare given China's [current] education system."
Many reporters want to find out why Ma chose this "unacceptable job" after her shop became successful. She complained on her microblog that, "A reporter told me that I could have chosen a normal job ‘like mine'."
"Well, I don't want to rob your job." Ma wittingly replied.
Ma wants to make money while having fun. "I spend lot of time creating things and focusing on social life. I like to make like-minded friends. I want to make money, have fun and get the nod. I think the current free mode I'm in, is the goal I am pursuing."
