Edgar Parks Snow (L) and Chairman Mao (R).

Edgar Parks Snow (17 July 1905 – 15 February 1972) was an American journalist known for his books and articles on communism in China and the Chinese communist revolution. He is best known for Red Star Over China (1937), a book describing the Chinese communist movement from its foundation until the late 1930s.

Snow came to China in 1928 and wrote a series of reports on the anti-Japanese war. His accurate and unbiased reports helped enlist international support for the Chinese people. He also helped organize and publicize the Chinese Industrial Cooperatives, which supported the Chinese economy in war time.

Snow bridged the friendship between China and the United States with his lifelong dedication to the Chinese people.
