Zhang Hui (R) and his uncle Zhang Gaoping (L) lead a new life in She county, East China's Anhui province in April 12, 2014.

In 2003, Zhang Hui and his uncle Zhang Gaoping were put on trial for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl who was found dead the next day. Despite the lack of physical evidence, the uncle and nephew were sentenced to terms in prison. Ten years later, Zhejiang provincial court in east China acquitted the two of the charges as new evidence showing the possibility of another suspect emerged. The uncle said they were forced to confess to the crime of rape during police interrogations. Provincial authorities are still investigating the wrongdoings concerning all law enforcement organs over their wrongful convictions.
