Beijing, with a favorable employment environment, had a total of 439,000 new urban jobs created in 2012. The city helped 125,700 people with difficulties in employment and 66,600 relocated rural workers find jobs. The registered urban unemployment rate was 1.27 percent, down 0.12 percentage points from 2011.

The city will create 360,000 new jobs in 2013, with registered unemployment rate controlled at about 2 percent. In addition, it will help 90,000 labor forces with difficulties in employment to find jobs.
