President Hu orders all-out efforts to rescue quake victims
Adjust font size:

President Hu Jintao has ordered all-out efforts to rescue victims of the two earthquakes that jolted southwest China and Beijing this afternoon. Premier Wen Jiabao is on his way to the quake-hit region in Sichuan Province to direct the rescue work.

Chengdu Military Area Command has dispatched troops to help with disaster relief work in the earthquake-stricken Wenchuan County.

The State Seismological Bureau will send a team of 180 people to the area for disaster relief. It also said there is no evidence suggesting that an aftershock from Monday's quake in Beijing would occur later in the day.
