At 7:17 AM, train L206 arrived at Jinan Railway Station. 808 pupils and 40 teachers from Leigu Township, Beichuan County, Sichuan Province would resume classes in Jinan for the next two months. Unless given permission from the government, all resettling schools, in order to maintain a sense of normalcy, have been told to refuse any condolence or volunteer activity from groups or individuals. Journalists are not allowed to conduct interviews in the schools without permission, and one person may not be interviewed twice.

The second group, composed of over 500 middle school students and 30 teachers, is expected to resume classes in Jinan today.

Huang Zujie, the deputy director of the Jinan Education Bureau, said that shortly after the earthquake, relief work for students in disaster areas was carried out in a scattered way and, as of June 2, 89 students had been sent from Leigu Township to Jinan. He also said that 20 expert teachers were sent to serve children in disaster areas, but they deemed the areas unfit for schooling. Huang Zujie said the Jinan Municipal Government then decided to move 1,396 students and 70 teachers from Leigu to Jinan to resume their classes.

Among the first group of 808 students and 40 teachers are two orphans, 48 single-parent students (39 of whom lost one of their parents in the earthquake), and 7 teachers who lost their immediate family members in the earthquake.
