The Jinan municipal education sector has distributed these students among four local schools with teachers specially selected to take charge of the life and schooling of these students.

The Jinan education authorities also installed fixed telephones in student dormitories and gave students phone cards so they can maintain contact with their families. All teachers and students have been given a monthly living stipend. Pocket money is also distributed to students daily.

On weekends and holidays, the schools will organize sport, cultural and entertainment activities in Jinan for the resettled teachers and students. They will also have regular psychological counseling. Since they will be in Jinan for two to three months, the summer holiday will begin later, after July.

Additionally, the Jinan Health Bureau will conduct physical examinations on the children, perform immunizations and maintain their health records, all for free.
