With a self-produced new album, Taiwan love ballad singer Jeff Chang wants his fans to know that his talent straddles the line between singing and producing.

For his 28th album entitled "Escape," which was released Tuesday, Chang tried some new roles. He not only produced all the ten songs, but managed to invite a number of musicians to join the production, making the album a mixture of ballad, rap, funk, R&B and opera.

The musicians who have contributed to the making of the album include Lo Ta-yu, Mavis Fan and MC HotDog.

Since starting his career in 1989, Chang has been diligent and has enjoyed a reputation as the "prince of love ballads." Before "Escape," he had released 27 albums, including studio albums and collections, according to his official Web site.
